How's that A/C?

Curious how you guys with SW's are staying cool in the heat. I have debated getting rid of my ST for a SW, but after driving today with the top off in 99 degree heat, I think reality hit that I would be miserable unless the A/C really worked well.

Does the factory A/C really cool for comfortable riding in 90+ degree heat? I have A/C option on my ST, but have never used it, pretty sure freon is out.

Put your top on, charge your AC and you will see how it works. It should be fine.

There were only a few days last summer where my a/c couldn't keep up. If you park in the sun with the windows up it will take a very long time to cool done, if it ever does. I was pretty surprised with how well it actually worked when I fixed mine.

in my 110, it didn't do well. then I added roof insulation and window tinting. that made a huge difference. now i can do 3 digits all day long.

Mine keeps up so far. My passenger gets wonderful cool droplets of water on their feet as a bonus

Surprised to hear the ST stays that much cooler than a SW. I figured once it gets in the 90's it wouldn't much matter

The AC in my '95 SW is doing well so far in the Texas heat. Although, with all the rain it has stayed in the low 90s. I've mostly run it on the lowest fan position, so it has more to give.

Now ... if I could only keep my engine cool, cmmmmmm.

I had a 94 ST while I was living in Atlanta and have to second the drop curtain as mentioned above. It worked fine without but so much better with. Funny thing is I originally got the drop curtain whilw in Seattle to make the heater more effective.

115 for a couple days last week, 112 today, tomorrow, the next day. My 97 SW stays livable here in the Az heat.

My old NAS 90 did fine in the Arizona summer as long as I used a drop curtain. Without the curtain it struggled past the mid 90's.

I park in the shade at all costs. It makes a huge difference and it's easier in the paint. I've been discharging and recharging my system about every other year. I honestly have no idea if it helps but mine still blows ice cold.

We generally roll with the windows down and the vents open. I haven't really had a lot of confidence in the AC, but this last week has been hellish in the Southeast and Katie and I used the AC exclusively. I was actually surprised how well it worked.

my 95 d90 had one of the coldest a/c i have ever been in while driving a defender.
my 97 is good - but i dont use it much as i roll up the window in the back, roll then down in the front and open the vents. thats more air than a/c.

My AC is by far one of the coldest I have encountered in any vehicle, if my truck wouldnt over heat when I ran I would be happier. Insulation in the roof and tinting the alpine windows helps cut down the heat

Now that I think of it, my only complaint is that the AC does not blow out of all the vents evenly. The center 2 vents have way more air coming out of them then the outboard vents... but that's being real nitpicky.

My factory 95 unit blows very cold (which is its only setting). Only issue is the water droplets passengers get on their feet.
