Right now I have 3. Basically, we saved the cash and bought when the right one came up on Craig's List. I figure it's better to have SOMETHING in hand than paper cash in the bank. A car like a Rover 110 is always able to be sold if I need the cash for an emergency. I may not get what I put into it, but I can always get something for it.

It's a collection. It's a hobby. A vice.

Start a 4 x 4 business.

The last 3 Defenders into our family were bought by Barbara.

Normally I get a phone call and the first thing I know about is when I get told we have bought a Defender. (again)

At least I have been forewarned that we have two options on one of the last Defenders to be built in the UK

^^^^ This!

Wife's: LR3
Mine: 110 CSW

Quite a few of us I think have this set up now in our garages. My wife was a bit leery of the bulk of the LR3 at first but now she loves it. And it is so nice to have a quiet long-distance cruiser for family trips that can still take a shedload of crap and tow like a champ.

I'm single.

As for the neighbors, I've just established myself as the crazy SOB in the hood. No one wants anything to do with me.

Problem solved.

I'm down to only four Land Rovers - plus a Porsche 356, a Kyote dune buggy and two travel trailers.
I have a very tolerant wife...and I live on a dead end street with a big back yard I can store stuff in.

I bought the 88 in 1973, the 109 in 1978 and the Porsche in 1971 so I tend to hang on to stuff I like.

I have always had my own rovers since I was 15. My EX husband thought they were ridiculous.....I got smart and married a fellow rover lover.

You need a minimum of 2 if you don't own any other marque so you have a back up to drive when 1 is broken.
