If the door bell rings tonight, it's the NYC cops busting you for taking a dump on the streets.
And I'm not talking about engine oil.

Well, today marked a rather sad (and expensive) day.

He had to have 4 teeth extracted because he broke them all the way down to exposed roots. 4-6 other teeth have most of their enamel worn down and may likely need attention later in his life. Looks like he'll be going on drugs for anxiety as he's beginning to self destruct. It's insane because I hadn't even realized until I randomly found a broken tooth, then started investigating and found he had broken a few. He hadn't even been leading on that he was in any sort of pain.

The Vari kennel appears to be no match for him either. Yes, he somehow ripped out an entire welded vertical strip of the door - with way fewer teeth than he was able to do it with the last time.

We had a Jack Russell that loved watching TV -- he would wait for commercials with animals on it, then go ape trying to attack the critter. He got so into it that if he were outside even, he would come running at full speed and leap at the TV if he heard the music from the commercial he knew had an animal in it. Watching Frasier was always iffy, Wishbone was out of the question.

Even when he went blind, it took a good 6 months before none of the commercials were familiar enough to him for us to be able to have the TV on.

Looks like he needs to go to daycare every day. I would also recommend a trainer who is experienced with separation anxiety. It made a world of difference with our Husky. He was abused by a previous owner (left in a crate for 12+ hours a day), so he hated the crate when we first got him. As soon as we put him in th crate, even with us in the room, he would start panting and drooling so much that it looked like he peed in the crate. He cracked the Vari-Kennel and cut his gums leaving blood splattered on the wall. After a few weeks of short (less than 5 min at a time) crate training, and leaving him out of the crate all together, he is much better in the crate. We always give him a Kong that is packed enough to keep him occupied for a while, but also easy enough that he doesn't get disinterested. Right now, with my girlfriend studying for the Bar, we rarely crate him, but still send him to day care a few days a week for some much needed play time. When we move, and are both working, he will be in daycare everyday.

A day at daycare = a tired doge. A tired doge = a happy me.

(picture taken just now after a day of daycare)

Joshua - that dog needs help...in the way of .45 type of help. I don't generally support that but - I have supported it once for a mate of mine, after a 3hr truck ride with an insane K9. At the end of the day it is a dog...I would do it to mine if she were ever like that. Fortunately Sassy is a sweetie

God, don't put him in a crate!

I'm not usually an advocate of giving a dog up but your dog needs to be taken care of full time, that's ridiculous. He is hurting himself, even is he doesn't get out of a crate he has no business being in one
