Thanks for the kind thoughts Bill/Sonny/Neil/Josh/Craig/All. Scout is already back in the saddle doing his thing, but with the cone of shame on for the next two weeks.

Scout will bounce back quickly.
My dog Trixie lost her left eye to glaucoma about 3-4 yrs ago. Like Scout she was on $100 drops and then one day the eye got super angry & it had to be removed. She recovered quickly and has not changed her way of life one bitů. except when she turns left a little too quick. :embarrass

Here's my boy Harry. He doesn't care about his cancer. He's just knows that the drugs are making him hungry and thirsty. Be nice if he could make it through a night....
But I wont complain. He's my boy.

Is he waking to eat/drink/go out or is it more anxiety based?
Trixie was having old dog anxieties recently. Waking in the middle of the night with the crazies. Vet prescribed low dose of Xanax which allowed us all to sleep through the night. She's much better & does not need it every night now.

He's on steroids which is causing this. I should ask about that as he is gaining weight!

Harry went down hill around the Holidays and a decision was made on New Years day. He was in too much pain. It wasn't too soon, it wasn't too late.

Bathroom mat. This was yesterday after 7 straight days of destruction - slip cover cushion on couch, slip cover side of couch, wife's skirt, other bath mat where we put his food, antique hutch, front door surround moulding, etc. He's been chewing everything while we're away. Been running him and everything.

If he's still young start crate training or a dog walker while you're at work.

A crate is the best training tool for puppies. My German Shepherd is 5 months old and has been crate trained. No chew disasters to report. Pick them up on Craigslist. Just make sure to get one large enough and read up on how to use it. Everyone including your best friend will be happy.

Mate our GSD pup chewed my favorite pair of Keens and the couch. We slapped on a muzzle, that allowed him to drink. No more chew disasters !

Yeah tried that. He lost a few teeth and we lost a few $ grand. He's 4 and a half years old.

Tried metal (he ate it and broke the welds and some teeth)

Tried the professional crate type that he wasn't supposed to be able to get through (he ate through it and broke more teeth, so we stopped crating him).
