How and Why to add an oil thermostat

Well, I finally finished stage 1 of my oil system upgrade with new hoses and an oil thermostat. Easy upgrade on an Rover V8 that uses a distributor driven oil pump.

Very happy right away. I now have newer and better flowing oil hoses, as well as a thermostat in the oil system which also flows better than the stock component replaced. It also solves the pressure lag during startup

Pictures and info available on a website I threw together on it, if our gracious host wishes to add it all to the Tech Articles, Consider this my permission
