That guy has apparently found a corner of the market willing to accept either substandard and/or overpriced vehicles. I'm guessing he only paid 60k from HHLR, so whats a 20k markup among friends?

I think there would be some that would pay $60K for it if you hold out long enough (Will did say the highest eBay bid was $55K). But, $80K, I think is a bit too wishful.

Actually that could be psychological Chris. That is probably a bargaining chip that they can use to some rich idiot who would buy it from them for $70K and go home happy thinking that he just negotiated $10K off of the asking price....hehehe

I saw on TV somewhere where that child actor dude (nickelodeon) bought the Fast and the Furious VW Jetta for $100K at an auction... those would be the kind of people that would buy this truck.... :-)

That's making SG D90 a bargain However I'm sure someone will buy it for mid 70's, I've been in the car business for over 14 years and I've seen worse.

I don't know if this is funny or sad but that's how much I spent on my D90 so far modifications and all

One born every minute

The guy that is selling the 80K D90 was also the one who had the 2000 or 2001 D110 that was built especially for Jimmy Buffet. I went and looked at his collection and sat in that thing. It sat on his web site for months at @ $52,000 but when he put it up for auction on Ebay, some goofball bought it for over $70K. Go figure. I have to enter into high level negotiations with my wife if I want to spend a couple hundred bucks on the 90. Must be nice.

Yousef, when you're tired of your 90 (which probably won't happen) you can then sell it for $100K since we all know how mods can add up to the price. It will also help if you can have someone famous sit in it and take a picture... that should add a couple more thousands, depending on who the celebrity is.... :-)

You see that's the problem. All the money I spent on Mods will never get it back, I know I will never ever ask 100K no matter who sat in it, not even $30K. All I know right now is I love my 90 and there is no price to what I love

Really numbers 486 and 488 are the sought after ones. I was told to avoid # 487

Funny I heard that too Dave.... I heard 487 used to be a crash test dummy for the NTHSA and then was released to the public with a salvage title.

I hear you Yousef. Lisa and I sat down to add up what we have sunk into the Disco over the years and it is almost what we paid for the truck itself back in '99.

Yousef how true, It's not the vehicle price but the enjoyment the vehicle gives.I cheated and bought my vehicle as is but I've enjoyed every mod the previous owner did. I'm still learning and exploring what the it can do.

Hey Guys,

We're sure going to miss #300. I took some pics of her along side my 90 before we loaded her on the transport. I would love to comment more, but in the interest of business, I will refrain. On a different note, I am planning on making a trip from NC to Moab, UT with a few other Rovers from NC/SC sometime in the spring of this coming year. My current D-90 is bone stock with the exception of my new Rockware front bumper. Anybody with experience offroading in Moab have any recommendations on neccessary mods for running out there? Let me know what you think! I've gotta get this new truck ready!

Will H.

Come on guys, we're all a little crazy on this board... If you have the money and really enjoy collecting rovers than #300 would be worth it. You can say you have #300/300 and put it on the internet for 20 thousand more than you paid. Eventually someone else will want it, sell it for more, and then you made money and had a bad ass collection... Score!

Matt
