Yea, we're completely on the same page... You'll see it someday...

And yea... My office's records were subpoenaed during a rather infamous congressional investigation...I know the government can be mislead.... But guess what ... Its still a few people ruining it for everyone in that case too.

[QUOTE=DefenderMd;587456]90 pages?

meh.. I did read enough to see some people had nothing to say in their defense and some did.

irregardlessnessly of if its forum members or not.. QUOTE]

I see you own a 1987 Defender, is it really a 1987??? How do we really know it is a 1987? Is it EXACTLY as it left the factory? Perhaps the Federal Government should seize your truck and keep it indefinitely just to ensure you are not one of "those few" and that you are not trying to get one over on the Feds. Oh, and let's let LRNA decide if you ever see your truck again. Sounds appropriate, legal and fair according to you.

Cheers,
Raub

Yes, there are illegal trucks on the streets. Some that I've seen recently that have somehow simply not been noticed at all by the Feds, even in this recent round-up. There are several within 15-20 miles of where I sit even now. And yes, there are illegal ones on Craig's List and eBay (but not as many as there were a year ago).

However, I think you are missing the point. Personally, I am much more bothered by an overreaching government than by a few people who are "ruining" it for all of us. Those people may be taking a risk of losing their truck. But there is no reason why their actions should ruin it for the rest of us -- except for the existence of an overreaching government. But for that, there would be no issues here.

The fact is, a good number of the trucks were taken for no good reason whatsoever. Even the lowest man on the totem in the Fed should be able to tell the difference between a vehicle that is attempting to get away with breaking the law, versus one that is what it says it is.

Bottom line: The few are not ruining it for us. They deserve what they get, even if the law is silly in the first place. But it's the government going out of its way to treat the rest of us like criminals that is the problem.

BTW, thanks, Will.

Good morning! Fellas, can't a man make 1 post without inciting controversy and infighting?!

Coffee is brewed and I've got my favorite mug. Time to get crackin'! The attached picture should, I imagine, make reading this thread look like child's play.....

Popular mug…

I do have a question for Will: (when you gat a chance)

What happens if the one of these trucks was "modified" after it was brought to the US, either by the importer or previous owner? If you don't have the support documentation to prove the work was done here, what happens?

Got one @ Sopers and one @ Rhode Town and bunch that girls would buy when we were down in ego alley @ Annapolis and then get drunk and leave on the boat. Level 4's will do that to you. Left em on the boat when I sold it.

its like bacardi 151 you have to mix it unlike some of my favorites like sailor jerrys or the jamaican dark rums.
Story behind Pussers is kind of cool, the British admiralty gave ea sailor a daily ration of rum. The purser was the party who handled rationing it out. Pussers is the sailors bastardization of the word purser.

Hope you're not expecting an immediate answer. From the appearance of the amount of documents he has to go through, he is going to be very busy.
I'm just glad someone else has the patience to read all that. I have an attention disorder and no patience. It takes me forever just to read a book.
