Exactly. They are the biggest contributors to the tearing down of homes of the spotted owl.

Assuming 20% of those go to folks that would be buying a new or pre-owned-certified vehicle from LRNA (20% seems really high if you ask me), we are talking about 250 vehicles not being sold. At current retail, the Defender sells for about $36K USD (picked up a "standard" 110 Australian dollar price, hope it's accurate enough). So that's 36x250K =$9M.

Just for reference, last year, LRNA sold 50,010 units. 250 represents 0.5% (and a Defender would be priced lower than the Evoque or the LR2/Discovery Sport).

I'm not sure I understand why LRNA would do anything about the Defender imports. I mean.... They routinely use Defenders on their ads/marketing material. Clearly, my Defender brings much more attention from people around me than my LR3 or my D1. I am not known as the LR3-owner at work, that's for sure!

Will filed for discovery for each individual truck. Likewise the prosecution isn't making it easy for Will and intentionally buried him in paper. US Atty pushed one of Will's buttons a couple weeks ago as he alluded to here and renewed his vigor.....

If by "the few" you mean "the govt", then yes. Otherwise, then not really.

Well, since you're the expert ...they listed 50 on the warrant, seized something like 27, and dismissed or returned 14 (thanks to Willh)...including my friend Danny's (http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...postcount=1556). And Will is working on the rest...so yeah, the gov't was misled quite a bit (by LRNA as a matter of fact). But not looking to rehash, feel free to read the 89-pages to get up to speed before passing judgement based on a Craigslist ad or two.

Perhaps you should have read a good bit more before making callous uninformed flippant remarks @ other forum member's expense.

90 pages?

meh.. I did read enough to see some people had nothing to say in their defense and some did.

irregardlessnessly of if its forum members or not.. I know that there are people illegally importing them. I've been offered a couple. They got the feds looking... them or their compatriots... or someone getting nailed in GB.. some criminal is making it horrible for everyone else... the way it works... Of course.. unless you're that first guy I guess... then you brought it on yourself.

There are, indeed, completely innocent victims in this goosechase, sir. And the feds are not even close to being infallible.

Again an errant un-informed post.

It has been virtually impossible to bring in a truck that isn't 100% Kosher for years now.

This case is about vehicles imported before the fall of 2012. Had you read before posting you would know that most of the trucks involved had been in the US for many years some had 3 or 4 previous owners and undergone considerable alterations since being imported here in the US.

Your comments are completely inappropriate and frankly are asinine.

Reading is fundamental, since you state you cannot be bothered to read what is going on here before posting you should refrain from doing so.
