How would you like to be the guy that has to deliver the trucks back to the owner's. What does he say.

"Here's your truck back, Sorry about that".

Is he going to go the neighbors and say "forget about all that commotion that occurred last week with the cops. It was nothing. Just go about your business and forget we were here".

Sorry? Are you kidding? The government apologizes for nothing. They don't care, they are immune from civil liability over this, and if pressed on the issue would most likely claim, "Hey, we were just acting in good faith based on information provided by JLRNA, that we presumed to be accurate."

Certainly not in the know, but I'd doubt DHS will accompany the tow trucks to return the defenders. No apology or acknowledgement on their part would be my bet. I would be surprised if the owners don't have to sign the normal Customs "hold harmless" form to get their trucks back.

No, Yes, and I hope not. The government is covering the costs of shipping and storage, and costs for returning the Defenders to their respective owners by roll-back. I do not anticipate they will be escorting them home with the SWAT teams.

Will,
Just out of curiosity did CBP go after every truck that the said importer imported or was it just a sampling?

Outstanding, WillH!

Source members are interested to know if the (6+) owners would like to pursue civil suit against Jaguar land rover north america?

You're the second person to post that. What would be a good compensation for having the vehicle back within about a week? I'm assuming you mean for the "damages" caused by the raids. Mental anguish/what your neighbors think is worth what?

Hi folks, I'm a 25yr+ import Geländewagen owner ('82 RHD W460 300GD LWB), and I've been following this thread closely since the beginning. Despite the "brand rivalry", I'm a big fan of the 110, and it was on my shopping list when I came across my G.

I just wanted to say congratulations to the owners who are getting their trucks back. And offer a big thanks to Will for taking this up. The G probably wont be my last imported toy, and the precedent set here extends beyond the LR community.

Will, you've got a paying customer here if I'm ever in the market for your services. Great job!

Congratulations and good luck on the rest. I guess this means the thread wont make it to 2000?! Oh! By the way. I'm looking for a good defense attorney. I held a beagle up at gunpoint. I thought it was conducting surveillance on my house.
