A peasant speaks. I didn't realize that you had such an ultra elite club. Someone adds a constructive supportive comment about the seizure of private property and you make a comment belittling that yet adding NOTHING. You remind me of some firearms owners that will throw other firearms owners under the bus to save their part of their sport, until someone comes for them and there is nothing left. Go back to you country club or bunny rabbit whole. I am sure some heavy handed bureaucrat will be by some day to take your private property and no one will be there to help you

My point is a simple one and should worry us all. This is not just about lLand Rover Defenders but private property rights and due process being buggered and that should concern all 309,000,000 Americans and others for that matter

Once it is granted entry/clears Customs, many are immediately disassembled and reframed. This is legal. Trying to import a truck on a replacement chassis or even the original chassis that has been galvanized is not legal and will result in seizure. I have imported many rolling chassis but they all had bodies. Unfortunately if there is no drive train and registration you are only importing parts and do not get the documents you would need to title the assembly as a vehicle based on its VIN. Since the shipping costs for a rolling chassis are higher than for a running driving vehicle most go for a runner with paperwork.
Please Uncle would you explain this statement, "Unfortunately if there is no drive train and registration you are only importing parts and do not get the documents you would need to title the assembly as a vehicle based on its VIN. "

Does the truck have to have UK registration? I know someone who is looking to import a truck that was parked for 2 years and is not reg. if he lives in Texas, how will he get a UK reg. ? Now I'm lost.

You folks are corrupting the post

I will have to call your parents and have you sent back to the orphanage in Eastern Poland where you will have to surrender your Rover and exchange it for a Soviet era UAZ 469. Harsh, Eh?

Teri Ann, I suggest you call Doug. He is extremely helpful and his fee if you decide to import something is not only very reasonable, but especially so in this environment where it is pretty much required to have a Shepard.
