Angry Homeland Security?

I just got a call from Homeland Security about a D90 that I bought in Wilmington a couple of years ago. He is saying that he may have to seize it...

I am assuming that this is legit, but wanted to throw it out on the board to see if anyone else has come across this recently. I know there were seizures in the past with Dr. A, but I thought that was all over now.

Does anyone have any new details or have any points that I should bring up?

If this does happen, I will have a 300TDI full setup that will be on the market

Thanks,
Sean

You have no obligation to communicate with anyone, ever, in the context of a phone call. Call Will H.

I doubt seriously a government agency would ever telegraph their possible intentions. Not their style. It would give you opportunity to hide the vehicle.

Kind of like the DEA calling a local drug lord and saying they're coming to seize his cocaine shipment next week.

I think some one is either playing a joke on you or trying to scam you.

Actually if his truck is somewhere other than his residence or workplace, etc... perhaps in the process of doing some work on it, they may have had trouble doing their surveillance on the vehicle prior to the roundup last month. They probably rode through his neighborhood a few times since, posing as hari krishnas or meat salesmen hoping to find the "target". When their dragnet failed to locate the truck, homeland security special agent fuzzy dunlop said "fuck it, lets just call him!"

They will probably follow him right to the truck's "hidden location" today after work.

If they used beagles, they would be led right to it.

I asked, and it was the standard "It may have been imported illegally" probably due to EPA regulations.

cease all communication with that individual. contact willh (your attorney) first and check the warrant for your VIN.

If the VIN isn't on the warrant, then ignore that individual.

I feel really weird writing that.

Are you now or have you ever noticed you and your parents are under surveillance?

You guys do realize that they can go after any vehicle associated with the dealership in NC. Regardless if it's on the current warrant or not...wake up, smell the coffee, I'd fathom a guess it's not going to stop with just the trucks "arrested" on the first warrant

I'll be interested in the 300tdi! I can give it a good home
Hopefully though you won't have federal agents coming knocking.
Best of luck!

I don't think that's how it works. Not in America, at least. How did you come to this conclusion?

Really, your that naive? I'm guessing but having some experience with how .gov works this isn't going to end at the original sweep for evidence with just one warrant. I'd find it hard to believe that our friends from .gov are not still working on gathering more evidence...
