Holy Schnikies! M&M at Exmoor!

Exmoor now stocks Melvin and Moon Defender Seat Covers and safari furniture! The shipping used to be the obstacle. That is some nice gear!!

I just did a search on AB and didn't see any Exmoor items. Is this a "Call Eric" thing?

Ha Ha. I wish. Did you get my email about the sched? I just got a call from my Dad and he may travel with me to pick up the 110. If it arrives on the 11th, does that mean it's available on the 11th? I'm going to call the shipping co tomorrow to get a confirmation date for arrival.

I think at a minimum, I can get at least four of the six Hardiggs to your place.

Yep. call Eric. All exmoor items not listed are special order, but the pricing is about the same as if you were in the UK (per exmoor's site), sans the overseas shipping and VAT. AB can order anything on Exmoor's site.

I've been looking at the M&M seat covers for a long time (and the Rorkhee chairs...), but M&M always had such lousy pix on their site. Now that they are on Exmoor and I can see them better they look, well, a bit slovenly. I really like the fitted look of Chris' Badger covers. If we just get Badgerman to make a leather-piped canvas seat cover that looked and fit really well, then I think I'd be well and truly happy.

I feel the previous model of Canvas Seats Covers from Exmoor (made
by Trakkers i think) was better looking. It was a very clean design.
Anyway those don't look bad. Available at AB ?

Are these slip-on covers or replacement material?

I'm at the point of needing new seat material, and these look interesting. Anyone have any experience with them?

I agree with JimC, a more fitted version would be cooler. Dig'n on the Rorkhee chairs and table, along with the champagne cooler/wash basin.

These are seat covers, not trim upholstery. you put these over your seats as is, when you are going off road or in dusty, muddy conditions, so they should be somewhat loose. who wants to wrestle with perfect fit for seat protective covers, when you get home from a trip and want to pull them off to wash them? anyhow, M&M are legendary african safari outfitters. check out their ZA site sometime. right now, I'm looking into Sandstorm (kenya), as they make seat covers of equal quality, but they are much less expensive ($500 for a full 110 set vs. M&M at $900), with side and rear pockets, and leather piping as well. they just don't advertise it yet on their website. will let you know what I decide. regardless, either set I think will be the finishing touch on my 110 (short of zebra stripes, which is definitely overboard)

Having just tried to order seat covers for my trakkers, I can tell you that you'll need to order directly from exmoor -- no domestic retailers were willing to special order. That said, the exmoor people were quick to respond, friendly, and pricing was going to be a wash with shipping due to the lack of VAT.

I have always dealt with Exmoore in the Uk. They are very helpfull and recently, when I was ordering a hoop set for a 110 pickup, they said they only showed 1 in stock, "could I please call you back after I run down into the factory and make sure its complete before I take your card information" . I think this is typical of the way they do business. If they are backed up they give you a very accurate level of expectation. Compared with other Uk vendors I like them immensely.

Good to know. i have only ordered Exmoor once, and that was through AB, for a replacement set of my 60/40 bench trim.

I must say you will be far better off ordering those covers direct. For some reason they can never get our special orders to us on time or correct. I think part of it is they work much better with small one off orders from retail customers. When we order a stock order it is fine but once we add special orders mistakes seem to happen. Good luck they look like great seat covers.

Sandstorm from Kenya also makes "bespoke" canvas seat covers. They will email you from Kenya and usually need photos of your seats and then about 6-8 weeks. Prices that I have heard are more like $350-$500 for full front and back set. They look like the M&M ones, same material etc. Overland Journal got some for their LC project truck.

FYI OJ is putting the 2.8 powersrtoke into the Toy LC. I think it is great that an almost Rover engine is going into a Toyota!

I see that the M&M covers are also available in a "shot grey" color - I'd very much like to see that.
