Holy Crap substance

Ok I am new to the Rover world, I have had dozens of Jeeps myself over the past ten years. I have always fabricated all my own bumpers, racks an what ever else. I have been members of dozens of Jeep forums and I have been SMH for the longest time, some I have been kicked out of, others are just a bunch of idiots that don't know WTF they are talking about. Don't get me wrong there are a few Jeep guys that know what they are talking about, but I find them few and far between. I have been on this forum for a few weeks now, you guys really seem to know what you are talking about. Everything from the cooking corner, tech, parts and even when you guys are just bullshitting, it all makes sense. Everything seems legit! I mean it's like I walked into a different world where everyone seems to have a grasp of basic common sense, I mean is there a rule that only idiots own jeeps and all those with an IQ over a hundred own Land Rovers? Don't get me wrong I still have my 64 CJ6a, but why didn't I get the memo, like ten years ago? FYI I love this site, please don't kick me off for voicing my opinion!

I think it's an evolution thing...it seems that most started with liking the Jeep, especially the CJ and older models (to include myself) but the LR takes it to a new level.

I agree, from some of the builds I have seen I agree a hundred percent. There isn't much that gets past you guys. I have always prided myself on the level of my builds, and it's though when the majority just slap stick crap together. There is a lot to be said for a level of quality that is a standard. I feel at home here and I am excited to see what you guys think of my 85 90 build that I am starting.

Glad you are here... Some LR forums have plenty of idiots, if your want to see the dark side, go hang out on DiscoWeb.org for a few minutes.

But, the D-90 forum seems to have rational, logical, helpful, compassionate group. We have had disagreements, alternating political discussions, build preferences and etc, but everyone seems to stay friends.

But it is true though, stupid people like rovers just as much as intelligent people, just look at me..

I'm sure the cost of the rovers is what keeps the Ediots at a minimum!

the problem with this premise is you have to be an idiot to own a Rover. its an irrational choice. its like dating a hot blond, you know your in trouble, you just cant help yourself..... Although riding one can be fun. But I digress.

Reese you might be on to something

I thought this thread was going to be about some radical new substance that kept rovers together, rust away, stopped leaks, and could be formed into new body panels including middle doors.

Good thread though and welcome. I'll keep looking for that magic sauce.

hmmm

I was once told that owning a Ducati was like dating an Italian supermodel who insisted on wearing heels that she could barely walk in and would only eat a tiny morsel at the most expensive restaurants. I wonder what the Defender equivalent is?

I own a D90 and a Monster 796. It just makes sense to me and maybe nobody else. It is odd and unusual. I prefer to not be typical whether it makes sense or not.

My previous post is what I sound like after five or six whiskey and cokes. I do not have a problem drinking.

You have an English 4x4 and an Italian motorbike... the paragons of reliability and inexpense. You sir are scholar and a gentleman... but also a masochist and have way too much money.

I love my 996 but finiky. When she's happy though, there's nothing like it in the world. I think of it as an enquilizer... I had a guy in a beautiful porsche GT ask me about my bike.

A guy on a honda shadow pulled up to me yesterday asking about the duc and said how nice it was. I was very polite, but could not lie and say he had a nice bike as well.
