That thing has been on there for 3-4 weeks now. It has "sold" a few times. I don't know the story behind it though.

You know it may be just me but what is the big deal with wanting a "new" Defender? Why not just build one from the ground up the way you want it?

It may say that it is a 1998, but if you look at the VIN it is a 1994. Hmmm.....

I am just wondering what it took to get it into the country. Besides $$$.

I bet they did that for the e-bay auction, as ebay checks the vin before they let you post just to make sure it is ligit.

What's really odd is that it appears to LHD. I didn't think any of the 50th models were built LHD....

Anybody more in the know? Seems very fishy, especially since the 50th is more or less an NAS D so why bother in this part of the world...

You can buy 50th models from other countries that are LHD. If you really wanted to pimp, RDS has a 50th body with the safety devices NAS roll cage for sale (LHD)... www.roverporn.com

My guess is that they took a vin # off a wreaked NAS d-90 and registered the it at the local DMV to make it "legal"

Why in the hell would you waste all that money to import a V8 LR, which there are plenty of running around already?

I've tracked that truck for a little bit. It seems legit, and looks too correct in trimming, etc., to be a replication. Nice color.

The vehicle looks legit to me. It is one of 180 Defender 50th Anniversarys made for Germany

Best regards
