Agreed Jeff. The dealership told me that they couldn't get a factory brush guard, but would recommend a full Equipe setup as an equivalent replacement. Going by there later for a quote

Hope you're doing well bud,
B

Lucky8 may have them.

I thought I remembered a For Sale thread from Wolf that said they were no longer available. Plus, I thought the Equipe partners split and formed a different company. That was why we were getting these deals.

There may still be some of their front bumpers available though.

Equipe no longer exists. The guys parted ways and one of them created COR4.

I can't tell anything from your picture but I for one would make sure you have your truck fully checked out. No clue how it was hit but if they caught your bumper just the right way they could also have tweaked your frame a bit.

Not saying you have to go through insurance but I would for sure get a police report. You can always go through insurance later but the first thing you need is the report.

Then again in California you don't file police reports unless someone is hurt. Retarded.

You can definitely file a police report because of the hit and run. When my series got hit by a crazy lady on morphine she ran but someone got her plate number and contacted the police right after I had called them to report the hit and run. I think having the police report will be really helpful in dealing with the insurance company too.

I never saw crazy lady or her car, but the rear crossmember on my series ripped off much of her passenger side body work when she side swiped my rig!

Hope this all works out for you.

Daniel

Most police agencies (in Ca.) will handle hit and run reports, otherwise PD and SO pretty much only take reports if there's an injury. CHP is required to take a report no matter how minor or major the collision. People can opt to exchange information on minor, non-injury collisions, but for hit and run, injury or property damage collisions, they are required to take the report.

Even though this is technically a hit and run, most agencies would now require this particular crash to be handled as a counter report. That means you would have to go in to whatever agency handles your area and fill out the paperwork which typically consists of a face page (for your info and the suspect's info) then a short narrative of the details of the collision, including witnesses, damage and any supporting information. It would more than likely not go anywhere, but at least there would be a report on file for the insurance company.

I just heard a story of a local doctor involved in a hit and run on a parked car. As in this case, he was observed, and the owner of the damaged car called him to sort it out. The doctor invited the guy over to his house, opened the trunk of his car to reveal a trunkful of Viagra, and told him to take all he wanted. I guess the medical licensing board is frowning on this.

First, get him to confess in writing or over the phone recorded (check if your state is a one party or two party state).

Second, tell him you are planning on filing a police report and you have him dead to rights and it is a criminal offense for a hit and run.

Third, ...
