Hi-Cap Defenders

Does anyone know the first year Land Rover made the 4 door Hi-Cap Defender? I've seen one as old as 1996, but not much older as far as the 4 door is concerned. I am on a mission to find one while I'm stationed here.....

Land Rover started to sell the 127 as it was first know (now the 130) in 1983. Each one started out as a 110 then had its chassis stretched at the factory....

But then that predated the use of the Defender name.

I guess what I mean is the double cab. The 110 with four doors and a truck bed. Was that model made in the 89-92 year range?

According to Land Rover it starts with vin X which is a 1999 production year. I had thought they were earlier than that.

I have seen 110 double cabs with ribbed roofs. I owned one but it wasn't a factory done one. Ribbed roofs went away mid 1989 model year.

High caps started with the series 3 , pretty rare trucks if you find one.

127s/130s are different than the 110 DCPU that OP is asking about

Will is a defender Dealer in the UK. The 130 and 110 dcpu use the same roof, headlining and the rear wrap around windows. He's just saying that his pre 89 127's have ribbed roofs,as they should.

This is an 1984 127 with ribbed roof. The ribbed roof which leaks is easy to change out to smooth roof or TDCi roof panel which does not dent as easily.
I know this is not a 110, but the roof and doors help define the vintage.

Andy is asking about 4 door High Capacity pick up, the 110 does not exist 4 door and High Capacity so I presume he is looking for a 127 or 130.

I have a 1992 LHD 130 single cab 200 tdi as well as a 1992 LHD 130 double cap 200 tdi. Not seen any 1986 / 1990 LHD 127 / 130.

Andy:
Are you looking fior a 110 or 127/130 based vehicle?
Or maybe still trying to decide?
