Should have kept it. But at least you had it for a short time.

It was a great overall truck.
It needed a good going through to get things up to snuff and it had some minor goofy stuff done that needed to be undone, but overall it was a great truck that was surprisingly unmolested and very very rust free. We rarely see them that original these days. Unlike some of the "accessorized nightmares" we get in, it was a pleasure to work on.
New owner loves it and is thinking about an automatic conversion so that his wife will be able to drive it.

cheaper for the wife to take a lesson.

the G is an auto... and i never used autos off road.... and i dont like it. the merc auto holds the gears and all... but it still sucks. you gotta ram the pedal to activate the kickdown, and i have have yet to use the syncro hi/low on the t case. (on the upside, its a tank)

tell him not to ruin it, and build up 97 90 for her. last buddy i had do that to his fj40 for wife ended up being pissed b/c she used it a few times for 6 months and then still didnt like it.

the 110 looks good. glad some has that will will sort use it. the tight trails i like to go down woulda ruined that aluminum last week.

I tell everyone that, but it never flies.

It really doesn't ruin the truck. The way we do it, it can all be "undone" and you'd never know it was ever an automatic, so it isn't so bad.
