Heritage Motor Center certificate plus Technical specs

Has anyone gotten this and is it worth it? I'm thinking about getting it for my series. It's $100, or for $70 I can get a dating letter and technical specs.

Thanks,
charles

Might be neat if you're looking to build a bit of the history of your rig. For importation purposes it might be too much information. Original engine configuration and all...

I got one and provided my VIN and engine number it looked good. It did help with import because it's 25 years from date of MFG this is the only way I know of to get that information.

I don't need it for importing since it's already here and registered/titled. I was thinking more in terms of having a complete list of what it came stock with, perhaps know what is or isnt original. For example it has a hand throttle which the repair manual says is only on a diesel (and this is petrol).

But really for curiosity. What I don't want to do is get it and find it doesn't provide any useful information

Hand throttle were available, and indeed, somewhat common, on petrol series trucks. Noah, my 1959, has one.

Ron, you wouldn't happen to have a vent lever would you? One of my kids managed to break one already. How something can last 47 years and then be destroyed in minutes by my kids is beyond me

HMC offers (or offered) varying levels of details in their different reports. The fully monty might contain too much info because EPA requires that the engine and emissions control equipment are in the original configuration. For DOT its fine. The Dating Letter is great for the date of MFG and should cover the bases for DOT and EPA time requirements without giving PITA customs officials unnecessary ammunition to deny an import.

From a history perspective I think Galpin's idea is great.

I don't believe I have one. I have some SII style, but those are different and I am hoarding it to make another pair (have two in Noah and one spare). Post on the R.O.V.E.R.S. board and someone will have one.
