My desire is a car that becomes my daily driver and is presentable as a very good condition version. That being said, you are spot on with your assessment of working with what you have verse what you don't know. Not being able to see the car is what has me holding back, not so much the price per se. I am all too familiar with the problem of having to spend a lot of money to repair a vehicle after purchase - ask me about my 110 some day.
Flights are cheap...

looks like I will likely pass on the truck. Not being able to lay eyes on it myself or through a forum member leaves too many questions un answered. Thanks for your thoughts and feedback.

RoverGuy, interested in a team restoration project…:-)

Just let me know what help you need, I'll pack up some tools and head your way! I also found a new Rover shop here in Nashville!

I passed on the truck. Looks like it sold for exactly what he and I discussed - $15,000. I did get confirmation that there was no rust on the floorboards (he sent me pics which the carpet pulled back). This was a great car for whoever got it. Too bad it was on the other side of the country than me.

So, now I will start the process of restoring mine to a good solid daily driver.
