great! looks like a nice rig

feel free to contact me anytime about your Defenders. I'm looking for a nice one, one I can hold on to and travel with. I live in the USA but have friends in the UK. I also have great access to Rovers North so the truck doesn't need to be perfect but in fairly decent condition would be great. Prefferable 300tdi but only because I don't know anything about the other engines although I'm willing to learn

have owned multiple rovers

would love to see some pics of the iceland truck and any info - thrilled about your business!

Bring the two five doors. Or if one sells first, the green high cap. Get a move on you really only have 2.5 weeks before they need to be @ the docks.
If they don't sell those are the ones that can live in my driveway.

Julian- what about my own white v8 pickup ? Can we ship that to me as well ?

Any local guys want to help me move all these 110's from the Baltimore docks to Annapolis ? Has to be done between 8am and 4:30 pm week days and usually takes 3-4 hours.

Tony- up for another adventure ? Emerson ?

I'll be coming 'round for my trucks and can help move the others of course. Will check in later Doug. May have some drivers with me as well.

Jim Pendleton

What is the date and any web information on the Pearl Pond activity. I was thinking of throwing a wrenching party at the Pearl Pond meet if the organizers did not mind. Maybe convert mine to LHD 200 tdi on the spot. Or possibly a new frame while I'm at it.

You game Jeff?

Good advice.

After looking more closly, I think the browm one is the best from the pics above. It would look nice in my driveway.

If you need help, let me know when ahead of time. During the day is difficult, since I'm not my own boss ATM.

(aside: Sorry been slow to respond lately - just been busy.)

Jim-
The next Pearl's Pond event that I can think of (pending any ROAV work days) is the Summer Rally (pulled off the events end of the forum, deep down on the page):
http://www.roav.org/

Big things to keep in mind:
Timeframe is 20-22 June
Location is Pearl's Pond
100 truck limit (register early...)

Much more info is avail here:
http://roav.org/forum/index.php?topic=586.0
http://roav.org/forum/index.php?topic=640.0

Wrenching event there would be pretty cool. Wrenching event up here would be cool too and you'd prob get great attendance with a little advance warning.

Pendy,

The registration is per truck not per person so register accordingly.

Yeah, since converting to lhd and reframing is so easy, I'm sure you could knock one out in an afternoon.
LOL.
I agree with Ray, when I have your schedule, might have to schedule soemthing in the Dc/Balt area to comemorate the occasion.

Agreed with Jeff - don't respray any truck. I definitely see it as a negative, and I think people in the US see it more as a used-car sales tactic where its intended to hide something. I certainly wouldnt want a project truck with a fresh coat of paint. Especially when its like some of those repaints I see where the interior is left the original color.

One of my pet peeves is when they paint the galvanized cappings on an 83. I think the galvanized look is one of the cool aspects of these older Defender's. I don't like the painted wheel arch's or spats most 83's have. I like the black ones. The painted ones are a yellow abs type plastic underneath and are far more prone to breakage than the black ones.
