So the Pearl's Pond activity in late June is heavy with wheeling activity? Or would a big wrenching event be welcome? I guess that is what I need to find out.

I thought to show up with a replacement frame and bulkhead. See how far we could get in a couple days. I can bring most needed items but a host shop might be nice too. And the Pearl Pond activity seems like it could work as well. Nothing like a bush restoration to make for a lifetime of stories. As well as an idea to drum up business for the 83' D110's.

I guess my schedule will be subject to the trucks arrival, the Pearl's Pond activity and/or anything else we might decide to schedule otherwise.

What do you think Doug?
Ray are you an organizer for the ROAV event?
Anybody want to run the camera for us?

JP

Jim,

Pearls Pond is in Buckingham County, Va. Not close to anything. The accomodations are an open field. The event is mostly for wheeling. That said, there is little you can't do to one of these in the middle of a field as long as you have lights and compressed air. I'll check in with the ROAV leadership and see what they think. One of the biggest complaints @ these events is the lack of commercial presence. Let me check and I'll get back to you.
At a minimum you, Julian, and I, and whomever else wants to, should go out for some Maryland crabs while you are here. That is if Julian can stand cold beer instead of warm bitter and shell fish instead of kidney pie and kippers.

Follow-up Post:

Pendy- I put the question/feeler out to the ROAV leadership. Will let you know how they respond.

Jim-
Doug tapped in on the ROAV leadership-I'm not one of them, though I do know James the current president and several other officers; we camped with them at last year's MAR. James is who I'd check with-but as you pointed out, it would def be a bush restoration.

I think you should head this way to pick up the trucks, do some restoration in the NoVA/Md area and be treated to one of our bimonthly NoVA happy hours-and then go wheel the crap out of the truck at the summer rally (which should be fun given the small number of trucks and the relative freedom to do anything)....I mean, that's only what, 2 weeks or so to be on the East Coast.

In all seriousness, whatever you do when you head this way I think we should get together-even if I don't go up there to drive one of the trucks to assist Doug I'd prob tag along with Tony just to stare at them...kinda like I did at Tony's the other day.

I have to agree with the styling and cosmetic comments Doug made. That being said, from a selling point I think 5 doors are the way to go but I see plenty of cabs

Pendy,

I got a couple of reply's from ROAV folks- indivualy they love the idea so far. They will be discussing and will get back to me with a concensus.

If you decide to go that route, I have an 8kw honda genny and compressor I could bring so you could travel lighter. I always wanted to see a reframe in a weekend- I think that and some trail riding should go well together. Video taping it would be neat.

Julian,

I think mine should be free. Just sent you an email. One of my folks wants the 300tdi hardtop so it looks like I will finally be buying one of your trucks.

The sad unwanted one @ the bottom of the survey that only three people voted for.
