Help Support This, Please

I am a new enthusiast and I have been doing my research on where I could purchase a new Defender, only to learn that they are illegal here in the USA. I found this strange so I researched into why, and from what I am getting out of my research is that the reasoning the US government has given are unusual and in some cases just out right hypocritical (as in there are other US made vehicles that break the laws they established but are still perfectly legal), and it almost seems that certain automotive companies in here in the USA have bought their way so they don't have to deal with any form of competition. So I decided that I wanted to try to make a difference in the world, and I made a petition to the US government. And I really need help if this petition is to even be remotly noticed. So please sign the petition under the link.

Thank you.

And depreciate the value of my Defenders? No thank you!

Also, this is not the thread for this conversation.

It needs at least 150 signatures before it will be made public on the petition website, but the goal is 100k signatures.

The Chrysler lobbyists will eat this for breakfast before it goes anywhere...I am sure the JLRNA folks didn't just roll over and play dead in 1990whatever when the embargo was put in place. And yes, they have some pretty decent lawyers, as evidenced the Fn bullcrap on the "LAND ROVER" name BS they went through pursuing all the little guys (no offense) who support their brand!! OK - Rant over.....

I signed it for whatever illogical reason

Nas

Anyone who owns or plans to own a NAS truck would NOT want this to ever happen.

Definitely anyone who has bought a NAS truck in the last few years at these ridiculous prices! And anyone who has paid the import prices and costs assoc with the RHD ones.

Such a tragedy - good news for everyone mentioned above though.....It will never happen

So are you not going to buy a defender if you can't buy new? That's lame, if so. Buy our trucks at the prices they are today, drive it, and 5 years down the road enjoy how it has not depreciated.

The Chryco reps will have a sensible chuckle over the thought that any of these White House petitions, let alone this one, are expected to do anything. Yes, I can see it now. Obama sitting at his desk signing an executive order allowing Land Rover Defenders full import immunity. Maybe we can trade him a few things for importation rights...
