Help pricing NAS 90

Not sure of the etiquette here... but after trying to sort through two other threads ("What makes a $100k/$50k/$15k Defender" + "Defender prices these days"), I'm on the other side of the inquiry, looking for straight-forward advice about listing one of my Rovers on the "for sale" thread.

Earlier in the year, I was lucky to score a 19k mile POE Defender - candidly, I paid $65k and the general response was that the asking price of $69k was already a deal. Although very low in mileage, it does have frame and body capping corrosion/rust and several dents, including the rear corner, which is crushed in - that would be costly to repair.

I'm trying to figure out a realistic selling price for my pretty-darned-low-mileage Portofino Red 1994 soft-top. It has 32k original miles. What is impossible to describe is how clean, original, unmolested, and unblemished this Defender is. There is ZERO, zilch, nada rust/corrosion/oxidation anywhere on it. It does not have a single extraneous hole (aside from dealer-installed rear light guards and the rear bench seat). It does not have any accident history, dents, dings, or scratches. It's as original as they come - and it is the cleanest Defender I've seen since I sold them new 20 years ago. Mechanically, it is ready to go. Anywhere. Over the last two years and 3,000 miles, I've spent thousands of $$ at the 4x4 Center, having them do whatever it might possibly need. After years of storage by its original owner in North Carolina, I wanted to bring it up to snuff as a daily driver (but have only put 3,000 miles in 2+ years) - everything from a new clutch (disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing) to water pump to exhaust to all fluids changed to new BFG A/Ts to... simply stated: this is a Rover that needs nothing.

I'd put this up against any Defender anywhere. It is far and away better in every regard than my Coniston Green POE. What is the consensus about pricing it appropriately? Is the mileage or relative lack of uniqueness (i.e. it isn't a "special edition") demerits??

Why not list it at $85,000 or best offer? Super clean, low oringinal mileage and all original is worth a fair amount to a collector. Put it on Hemmings.

I agree with Chuck. List it at the higher end of the spectrum and see what kind of offers you get. Take what you feel comfortable with.

Portofino isn't super popular, but if it's as nice as you say, try for $150k and see if someone hands you the cash.

I would say some where between the above- $99k, super detailed (not shiney Armorall, just spotless) then many professional pics, and give it a go!

Thank you for the feedback - I appreciate the comments and suggestions. Probably best to start with locating a photographer... Zack comes immediately to mind!

Frank, if the question is How to price it for sale Here? It seems $50k is about the limit and it might still take a month to close. If you want to max your potential return IMO it needs to be in a major metro area, like NYC, where the money is and probably on consignment. ------ Follow up post added August 20th, 2016 07:54 AM ------

I would list at 65k and hope to get 55-60 but you have to be patient. Again, have it detailed and professionally photographed.

I wouldn't post on BaT fwiw...I think it would be undervalued there. You're also not going to get any brokers to take interest most likely if you're aiming high...and you're not going to get value here...so I agree with the others, you need to post to Hemmings or consignment in a large metro area.

This^

When I talked to BAT about mine they didn't know much about them and valued it at low book NADA (NADA- IIRC). I fear they are about like any other auction site...their mission is to sell cars and make money.

Did ecr sell you the green one? You could have them sell this. For a clean truck like this I would just put it on eBay with a high reserve and let it run. Odds are someone will contact you after the auction ends and make a deal.

In its current condition I don't see why 70 to 80 isn't doable.
