Help ISF Customs Import IDK!

Hello looking for some help from someone with more experience than I in ocean importing. I have ordered hundreds of parts from the UK but apparently everything before has been air mailed and no ISF was needed. I ordered a roll cage from PP cages and on the 23 of April was notified by the shipping company Hellman that I needed my broker to file an ISF. I told them I had no broker and they said I must. I contact a friend who imports art and he said that it needed to be filed before it sailed. So here I am can anyone advise on what I need to do at this point?

Call Safari HP or one of the other importers and see if you can add your cage to one of their shipments.

If your friend is a broker, he should know what to do. How/why did Hellman get it on board without filing? They should certainly know about the ISF.
