Help- I need a good shipper

After waiting for three weeks for my defender to be picked up, the shipping company bricked on me. Anyone know of a good open carrier?

Shippers

I will look when I get home this afternoon. I had a Discovery shipped from Orlando to Denver and was VERY pleased with the service. I just can't think of the name. It's on my home computer.

They offered door-to-door service. They also offered "agent-to-agent" service which was much cheaper. The dealer I bought the truck from drove it to their agent in Orlando, and the truck was dropped off at their agent in Denver. (Turned out to be a towing company). I went over and picked it up and it saved me close to $200.

Follow-up Post:

Found it. These guys were great.

I just started the process of having a vehicle shipped by a company called Transport Services (their website seems to be down right now, but their number is 877-288-6718). I got quotes from about 30 companies. Check out the reviews posted on http://www.transportreviews.com/.

Angels Moving Autos and Cascade Vehicle Shipping were my second and third choices.

Good luck, and if you want to know how my experience goes with Transport Services, I can let you know once they've completed the move.

Fly out and pick it up. Shippers are the biggest scam artists in the world in my experience.

I used Open Road two years ago to bring a 90 from SLC to Annapolis- cost about $1250 back then. It took a couple weeks for them to pick it up- but only three days to my door after that.

DAS brought Humpty Dumpty out from SLC in 3 weeks door to door, w/ a feature where you can track it at any time. Cost $749 all in.

I am using these guys to transport from Santa Monica CA to Long Island.
They said three to for days from order to pickup time. I believe park city 4x4 uses them.
Here is the review from tommyd's link

Good luck

Placed an order 15 days ago with Transport Services to ship my vehicle from Roanoke, VA to Redding, CA.

Just cancelled my order because they couldn't make it happen. Customer service was terrible. Back to square one. Sigh.

I've used several of the big companies in the past many times, but used Ken's broker with my 110 a few months ago. Inexpensive, ahead of schedule, and a responsible transporter who called me often with an updated ETA. Thanks Ken!

Anybody ever used http://www.uship.com/shipstuff.aspx ? The idea seems good, I guess if you are willing to wait for the right amount of time, you'll get what you want/need.

Glad you got good service from Athena. I think David went ahead and used her as well. Hope you are enjoying the 110.

Anyone have any other suggestions for good shippers? About to get a truck shipped out to CA and looking for someone reliable.

I just used DAS to ship my 90 from MD to CO and they were great.

only took about a week and you can track the progress online.

and they were less than others that I checked with.

Is that the company name? If not, what company is it?
