Hellooo from uk

Hi my name is poppy
I have an puma engined truck cab 90, which is very much work in progress :D
I've had my Landy 2 years now and have become extremely passionate about the old busses.

Which is why I'm here, you have one of the biggest forums I've seen :D

I was wondering if you guys would mind putting up a
Save the land rover defender epetition?

I'm not selling anything but I am asking for a little support to make landrover/jaguar sit up and listen to their customers a bit so we don't lose this iconic utilitarian vehicle!

Because the Brits are a bunch of slackers they spend more time grumbling about how noone will listen to a petition rather than signing it. I thought I'd try further a field with some proper Landy lovers :D

Think it's a good idea. Real Four Wheel drives are disappearing in favor of the UT wagons which are not real off roaders. If LR goes for the new gen. monocoque design and all electronic suspension, the real 4 wd will cease to exist in the world.

Fully agree ::D
Is there a forum moderator I should ask if I can put the petition link up for?
The Brit one I started only allows uk citizens to sign so I have begun a new one in a vain attempt to spread the word

We have a cut off date here of 2015
That's all the news that's been reported, due to European health and safety laws the defender doesn't meet eu standards on emissions of crash safety. Which I think is a bit of an excuse really, as there are other marketed vehicles like the G wagon with similar blunt shape
I will start a specific petition thread then if that's ok

Being a Brit myself I think your are wasting your time though! ;-)

Mind you by 2017 the UK will be out of Europe so all will be good again.

If everyone thought I won't bother then noone would ever stand up to companies.
It's worth a try and I shall try my best to get it as global as I can.
I realise it may not work, but I feel compelled to try

What you should do IMHO is campaign for a EU exemption for low volume production. That would allow LR to keep building a number of defenders each year without them having to meet increasing regulation. Trying to force LR to change the EU is futile. Hit the source of the issue for results.
