Hello from Israel

Hi Everyone.

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rob, I am an American and i live in Jerusalem, Israel and South Florida.
For a living , I import USA made military equipment to Israel.

After many years of wanting and searching, I am now a Defender owner.

Most Defenders here in Israel are ex-Military/Police/ Border Patrol vehicles.....once they have finished service,
they are sold at a blind auction. Now i dont have to tell you all the pitfalls in buying a used LR...

so, i searched ....and after 2 years i found mine.

Its a 1997 110 300 TDI

Started out life as a leased vehicle, leased to CNN for 3 years.
After the lease, a nice old man bought it, and has owned it for the past 7 years.

Now its Mine. Everything is Stock....Wolf rims from the factory...imported on Goodyear G90's.
My 110 has a locally made A/C system, that works pretty well...though those in the back seats still sweat.

Im planning on first servicing the major leaks...Master/Slave cylinder being the worst.

Also thinking of the swapping the seats, Exmoor replacements are incredibly expensive here.
A popular mod thats done here, is to swap the rear bench for the 3 rear seats from another vehicle.

Im not too keen on that but....im thinking of importing a pair of adjustable suspension seats.

Anyway, i just wanted to say Hi and thank you in advance for all the help.

Here are some Pics......the phone mounts and external speakers have been removed.

take care,

rob

Hi Barry,

Let me know what your looking for.....its night here but in the AM i would be happy to take pics of whatever you like.

I do know that a very popular modification here, is to install a rear unit using the factory rear A/C plastics from the TD5 model years. Mostly the people that do the longer expeditions to Jordan have that setup...and everyone that ive spoken to is really happy with the performance / look of the setup.

I do have a friend with it..... i can snap some pics when i get to his shop next week.

Rob

Toda Raba !

I live near Latrun..... lots of offroad trails through the vineyards.

The dead sea area then south is my favorite part of the country.

Eilat to Taba , last i heard is open....just not recommended.

Jordan, Wadi Rum, and Petra are on top of the list !

Shalom,

rob
