Heated Windscreen Replacement

I need to get a new windshield on the 90 and was planning on going through insurance.

Has anyone had insurance replace their windscreen with a heated one? If you were to do this would you need the wiring and switch in place before you had the windshield folks do the job or could you do it after?

Alex

The tags are on the bottom of the screen for the later ones, and on the top for the early ones, but they're fully accessable on both (top fitting you need to pull the rooflining back a bit after removing the sun visors), bottom ones you run the cables through the back of the dash... it's easier & neater to whip off the dash top panel (about 10 screws) and then you can lay the cables underneath it, zip tie them up all neatly then refit.

Anybody else in the states carry Heated Windscreens besides RN? Tried the usual suspects with no luck. Anybody with Military takeoffs?

Have you read this thread?

You can install the wiring etc after the windshield, which is easier if you get the new type with the contacts on the bottom instead of on top.

I did great info. They do not have any in right now and when they do come in they are the more expensive kind. That combined with shipping to CA I might as well just order from uk. Trying to cover all bases here in US first and going through the Insurance so the quicker the better.
