Heading to CO in August - any trail suggestions?

Heading out to Colorado in August for a wedding and thought about towing the D90 out. Can anyone suggest any 4wd/offroad trails to go? Old mining towns or whatever. We are staying around Granby if there is anything around there otherwise is there anything by Breck? I guess I am looking for something pretty tame as I will have my 4yr old and my wife with me. If there was something we could coincide with some back country camping that would be cool as well.

Thanks!
Pete

The Wheeler Lake trail near Breck is an awesome moderate trail. It's the favorite trail of a lot of people in the local club. There are a bunch of others too. I would recommend buying the Charles Wells book and a few maps. They sell those online or at many of the shops in Breck. I am not familiar with Granby area at all.

Check this site: http://www.traildamage.com/google_colorado.php

detailed descriptions, ratings and maps... even uses google earth so you can pick out stuff near wherever you're going to be.

You might also want to check out the Solihull Society and see if you want to jump on any of their runs while you're here...
