Hawaii defenders

Anyone here live in Hawaii? I live on Oahu and visit Maui quite often. I'm trying to buy a defender, but the wife is against it. I know if she could see one, or better yet take one for a spin she will quickly change her mind. I'm trying my hardest to win this battle. Need some help here guys lol. Thanks and aloha

Haha in most cases that would be true, however I got a good one. Hell she bought me a new gas gas ec300 when we found out she was pregnant.

I'm actually in Waikiki as I type. There's always a yellow '94 parked on Kapahulu by the zoo, you could always go stalk him. There are a couple forum members too from Oahu.

Sweet thanks!! If you know any Hawaii members please pass it along. I was gonna swing by the rover dealer and ask them. I'm sure they know of a few floating around.

Currently building a 1988 Defender 110 LHD V8 in Bonatti Grey for customer in HAWAII, will be a couple more weeks before you can test drive it. We should be ready to ship within the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Best ,rivermike

Aloha Frank - my sis lives on Oahu and I have visited many times. As soon as I'm off the plane I'm hiking or diving! Your island is beautiful and so are the people. If your wife is as cool as she sounds...you will have no troubles getting your truck. Just show her one!! Good luck in your search.

Hello all,
I live on Oahu and would love to meet fellow Defender owners or Rover enthusiasts for that matter. There doesn't seem to be a large community of us here. If you're on this island we should arrange some off-roading days!

Welcome Dashing. How long have you had your Defender on Oahu? I lived on Oahu for several years, but moved back to the mainland about 5 years ago. There were a handful of Defenders on Oahu when i was there, but not much of a community that I was aware of.

Hey Pope. My year long search for a D90 on the islands finally came to an end last year in July. With no luck in the for sale section of craigslist, I had taken to posting wanted ads every other day until a gentleman on the Big Island contacted me. 24 hours later I was on my way to Kona where he was kind enough to pick me up at the airport, show me the defender, and complete the transaction at the local DMV. Had her shipped back home with Young Brothers and I've been enjoying my dream ride since. Like most Defender purchases, (as I've been finding out) I've had the pleasure of throwing money at it constantly since touching shore back home. I'm loving every second of it to be completely honest. Nothing inspires quite like an adventure ready Rover. Personally, I've only seen three others on the island. Both were around Tantalus area. Fittingly so around the narrow vine draped bits of road there. First one I saw in person was an exceptionally clean white D90 that pulled into my workplace and I just about wet myself. Couple of friends have sent me pictures of two others they saw on the road. Hopefully one day we'll form a small group to show up all the 4runner and Jeep cliques out here!
