Yeah, it keeps popping up. Why wont someone just convert it back to stock and spare the truck the shame?

It might be limited, but the only thing truly limited is its desirability.

C'mon, you know you want to ride in the back and do the motionless wave.

Actually, I was thinking an accident with a tree limb might cure the affliction.

According to willh, it was modified to be a tour vehicle for a Grand Canyon touring company (I'm assuming the 1 of 5 is just a marketing ploy, and (hoping) there is only one pope mobile nas d90

I tried, just so that I could kill the thing off, but the guy would not come down enough in price to make it worth it to convert back. I would have ended up with a very expensive Wagon and therefor no home for it.

I need to find all the Popemobile threads and merge them into one big thread and make it a sticky.
Kind of funny reading them every time it comes up for sale.

Truth be told, this truck might make an interesting hunting vehicle. The added height could facilite better gear storage and could be helpful in doing something creative for a viewing station. I've seen some odd looking, but purposeful vehicles built for Texas open ranges.

I agree. We built this for a ranch in TX
http://www.eastcoastrover.com/SafariCar.html

This Popemobile seems to change hands every 8 months or so. I just wish someone would buy it and love it.
I've never seen any of the other supposed 4 though. Anyone else seen another one?
