General - K6NRT. Have HF and VHF in the 90, and VHF in the LR3.

Used HF in Alaska talking as far away as Idaho and California... and have APRS running in both trucks.

Almost all of the regular trail runners of Land Rover Club of San Diego have their licenses now, we have given up on CB due to the asinine people on it.

Technician, KK4DPX. Got it mostly to put the VHF/UHF Yaesu into the D1...most folks on the East Coast still seem to be stuck on CB.

WH2M - Extra.

Daughter Bea is W9MRE Tech. This was my Dad's call.

Daughter Jenny is KD0ECE Tech.

Nothing in my 90 yet but I've been shopping HRO today for a dual band mobile.

Pass your General

1. Spend an hour a day on www.qrz.com doing the practice exams.

2. When you are consistently scoring in the mid 80's, find a test session.

3. repeat for Extra.

Mike

KK4DPX

D1 has VHF + handhelds, D3 will get it when I get home but being on the East Coast means being incapable of escaping the backwardness of CBs unfortunately.

edit-
Didn't realize I'd already posted...the CB comments still hold!

How does that work operating over here? Do you have to file for any sort of permission?

Foreign Licenses Operating in U.S.

The UK has reciprocal operating agreements.

Ah that's right. Seriously confusing if you omit a suffix though!

Never needed more than a CB, but if there were more hams around here I would do it. Last few events, half the folks had nothing. I carry 4 FRS now because of it and have a CB.
