In all fairness, its not an attempt at making a spiffy land rover. Its an attempt to disguise a vehicle in testing. Though its fertile ground for ridicule, just wait until the actual Spyker SUV-thing comes out, I think you'll find plenty more to ridicule.

"Although the mule is little more than a stretched Land Rover with a Lotus suspension ...."

Great, make something out of parts I already have.

When I saw this I immediately thought of Professor Fates car in the movie The Great Race.
I dont know why, maybe the fenders, the color?

Scott - you forgot the pix that show the home-made soft top and the tires that don't really even fit in the fender wells.

I've seen this one pop up a few times and discussed in other threads, but definitely belongs in this thread as well. Looks a bit like post #110 in this thread, but worse...

I really really hate to do this but...the new limited Fire & Ice look bad

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/09/l...e-and-ice-edi/

Matching hood with top looks bad and those new light facades are so ugly. come on LR. make your limited editions nice looking!

I kinda like the Orange 90. A little blingy, but could be a lot worse, and usually is with LR Special Editions.

What is funny about fire and ice is the description of the "options" that drive the price to $95,000.

"The limited-production Fire & Ice editions come packed with all the features they could fit in the Defender: Recaro buckets, leather and Alcantara trim, diamond-turned alloys, color-coded head- and tail- lights, glass sunroof panel, running boards and more."

So, bucket seats, leather, alloy wheels, clear lights, a sunroof and running boards? You could get all those on a 1982 chevy pick up.

They should be called the Hogwarts edition since they have on Harry Potter glasses and a robe.
