The bolt pattern is still rover, right? And the 300 TDI.

Minus the "red rover" badging I think it actually looks quite a bit better than most of the "pimped" Range Rovers out there.

Well, I'd have to agree that I have seen far worse, but it is pretty bad. I particularly liked how they didn't bother to center the "Red Rover" on the tailgate!

I only kept the good stuff that LR makes. Hood, er, bonnet, front frame section, firewall, most of the suspension, floor, headlights, grill.

And although not on my truck originally, the engine, t-case and trans are all LR.

In it's defense, it looks quite nice with all the panels on.

ha- the bonnet that dents when you poke it, the frame that might as well be made of soap, and the headlights for which the switch burns out sporadically? Clearly good stuff.

god I love these trucks.

Your nuts about the frame. They twist like crazy, but hold up to straight abuse better than any stock frame I can think of.

And I don't have a single wire, switch, fuse, or relay from Lucas, so my lights work just fine. Right about the hood.

i left a couple small dents in my old frame by coming down relatively light on rocks, and another small dent on the inside of the rear cross member using a mallet. another time while loosening the bolts on the radius arm bushing i lost hold of the bolt head and sent the wrench into the side of the ear that holds the bushing, and it dented.

Some UK examples

Some examples from the UK's most popular Land Rover show -Billing or is that Bling......

With all these modified motors about these days. Early standard ones are becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of.

no offense Ian, but I am always baffled by some of the shit I see in photos from the UK. Based on what I see in the magazines, it seems like everyone over there prides themselves on tacky, useless, bolt on crap. I don't get it.

British Bad Taste

Hi Nathaniel,
I posted some of the more extreme examples from my photo collection over the years. I don't think this form of customisation is exclusive to Land Rover products. If it's got wheels and an engine someone will always go one step too far with the shiny bits.
Though I would add a pic of my motor. No chrome in sight.
