Hagn Mini Action

Thought I would share a cool little project that I just finished. I'm doing the metal work for one of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild raffle rifles. This gun will be raffled off in 2014. It is a tribute to Annie Oakley. It is a 25-20 WCF the barrel is all integral, which means that the front sight, quarter rib, sight island, sling stud are all one piece of steel. Also scalloped the action and made all the sight inserts.

All total just under 75 hours in the project. 33 on a machine and the rest at a vice done by hand.

Enjoy,
Michael

The metal finish is really just bare metal. It is cross polished to 400 grit with stones and paper, then I use a fine Scotch Brite pad to blend any scratches.

NO BUFFING.....big no, no.

It is coated in a fine oil to keep it from rusting.

Michael- you must be mentally ambidextrous or suicidal to switch from working with such minute detail to driving a D90!! Always nice to see your work, absolutely amazing!! Hope all is well.

Dale, been called mental before but never ambidextrous. What is bad is me trying to make bumpers for my truck. I measured every hole for clearance of the bolt only, not taking into account how crooked a defender was. I had an almost perfect bumper on a nearly imperfect truck. IT NO FIT!!!!! Guys at the shop got a big kick out of it though, said they told me not to measure with a micrometer.
