Gun Range Thread

I thought we had a general thread going, but I couldn't find one so...here it goes.

The results from Saturdays event.

The #1 is my 15 YO breaking in her new Walther 380...the slide keeps biting her hand, have to get her some shooting gloves. adjusting her holding grip isn't working.

#2 is my 16 YO breaking in her survival Henry 22 cal., A little off but ok. have to adjust the front sight. The range actually had a bunch of 22 that I snagged! Heck I haven't seen a box of 22 on a shelf in almost 6 months.

#3 is mine...breaking in a new FN 40. Not too bad, but nothing to put on the wall!

Pistol at 15 yards, Rifle at 50...forgot the scope but it was a good time none the less. range owners said the range traffic was inconsistent due to the "Ammo Shortage". We broke after a couple of hundred rounds.

Is it a PPK type frame that's biting her? If so its very common. Se will need to tighten grip a good bit and make sure hand it low enough to clear slide.

Yep, we went over all of that a few times. Trying to let her figure it out, I will probably get her some gloves and maybe that will help but she's going to have to figure it out for a bare handed shoot. She'll have the same problem with gloves more than likely. Tighter grip will spare her the injury and improve her group.

Not Bad! I thought my oldest would favor hand guns more than a rifle and the youngest would favor the reverse. Completely the opposite...my oldest told me she wanted something higher power for distance shooting. Yeah...first things first...

I love my PPKs. I have heard about the biting but never experienced it. I have wee hands though.

Your girls are pretty spot on. I was thinking about getting mine some real lessons for mine. I have to get her to strighten her elbows with the pistol. I got to where I was shooting the .22s alot but all of a sudden .22 ammo went bye bye. I love shooting with my girl.

Sorry I missed going out. Work gets in the way of shooting. Oh wait, I get to shoot at work. Still not the same. Looks like you had fun.

Yeah "Still not the same"....we had a good time. Of course I had to clean all of the fire arms. I just do not appreciate the Walther...I mean how difficult can you make something to disassemble and clean?!? My FN's are so simple, even more so than the Glock, and reliable. oh and Dietz has/had (lol) 22 cal.

Picked my son up a Ruger 9mm revolver yesterday, spent an hour or so breaking it in. He likes the Tavor!

I have the LCR 38 with the crimson trace grip. Great carry piece. Off all my pistols that and my Glock 27 40cal are my only carry guns.

Glock G30's for me and my wife, Springfield XDS's for my two oldest daughters, Ruger SR22's for my youngest two daughters. Long guns are a secret cuz I'm tin foil hat about those. =)

An update on the Tavor site...they are once again offering the right to left conversion kits. The stopped due to a law suit...maybe they won!

That's a nice browning. All Belgian made? I've had several high powers over the years, still have a two-tone practical.

I carry a Keltec PMR 30. It's a little big but light. It's a fun fun to shoot.
