Very nice, Janet. For sound clips, I will refer you back to my "More guitars than talent" post.

My favorite guitar quotes:

Any more than 3 chords, and you're showing off - Woody Guthrie

Guitar is easy, all it takes is 5 fingers, 6 strings and 1 a**hole – Keith Richards

Yeah, but people who ARE rock stars generally don't have to tell people....

Then again, I've been drinking, and you could be David Lee Roth, or Dave Matthews...nah, he's not a rock star...or Dave Grohl, or Dave Navarro, or David Coverdale, or Davie Bowie. Maybe Bowie because he's British.

That was quite lovely!

Here's my current favorite player. It's a Paul Reed Smith (AKA PRS) Swamp Ash Special upgraded with PRS 53/10 pickups.

Edit: it seems I can't use HTML for images... let me try again with an attachment.

Take 2...

OK, that didn't work either. I'm lost. Here's a link:

Guitar acquisition syndrome (GAS) strikes again. Thanks Craigslist! 1985 Gibson Explorer. All black with black hardware, kahler tremolo and dirty fingers pickups! Loudest guitar I've ever played. Woohoo!

Headed to the PRS factory (this Thursday) for their annual open house. It is going to be a fantastic weekend! The weather is supposed to be just perfect - which is a nice bonus.

All my buddies are flying in from all over. 4 days of geeking-out over guitar and amps with no women to laugh at us. WOOOOHOOOO!!! I can't wait. My fingers will be bloody by Saturday morning.

A couple of years ago, Buddy Guy and Carlos Santana walkout on stage. David Grissom is always there. He's a tone monster and has some tasty chops. Mike Scott is usually there too. That guy is seriously funky. Can't wait to see who might show up this year!

Here's some images from last year:

Hey Wolf-

Since you are a fan of banjos & bluegrass, do you ever listen to Bela Fleck & the Flecktones at all?

I've got a mid 70s Sunn Bass head that I play though an ampeg cab. been looking for matching cab but not high on the list really. I'll get a pic soon. Did just grab my 80s Akai organ out of storage and been hitting the keys lately! been super fun. Here's a pic.

Got some cool new pickups coming my way! Here's a video of my buddy (Skitchy Zimmers, guitar tech for serious rock-stars) giving it a test drive at the PRS factory before shipping it back to me. SO STOKED!!!

There's some nice gear in this thread.

I've been playing the diatonic harmonica since I was a kid. For larger rooms I've got a 68 Fender blackface Deluxe Reverb in a custom oversized cabinet fitted with two 10" MojoTone speakers, wrapped in blond Tolex with oxblood grill fabric. For smaller venues I use a blond Fender Blues Junior. I either play thru a hot rod Astatic JT30 or a Shaker crystal mic.
