Growing my network

Hi all,

You haven't seen me online in a long time. My D90 is sitting in my buddy's barn collecting dust. It broke down on me over a year ago and I haven't had the time or money to work on it yet. My wife and I are saving for a house, and I have been spending all my spare time and money on training for an Ironman that I'm doing this July in Lake Placid. Feel free to search my previous posts to read up on my frustrations.

Anyways, I am looking to build my network that I started on LinkedIn. Is anyone on that site? If so, please reach out to me if you'd like to connect. Here's my link. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/stephen-leblanc/b/20a/220 my email address is stephen.leblanc (at) usi.biz

Thanks in advance everyone. And thanks for all of your previous help with my Defender and our Love-Hate relationship. It'll be on the road & trails in 2010 for sure.

Steve

I am on there too. Sent you a message to add...

Maybe this should be moved to the Misc. section, and we could add a D-90 Source group on LinkedIn.

Jim, the major issue is electrical. I think I need to replace it all. Especially the distributor. I did my research and think that I'd only be into it for around $500 plus time.

You are a total wuss. Sell the truck to me, I will get it sorted out and put like 2,000 miles on it in a couple years and you can buy it back.

Sound fair?

Jim and Scotts,
I think we need to post our emails to connect until there is a D-90 Source group on LinkedIn.

My email is:
jwinningham AT sbcglobal.net

I will add a group for the D-90 Source now...

Haha.. I'm never getting rid of the D90. I made my wife agree to that before I met her. She'd love the extra money to put towards a house...but I know how life goes..and there will never be another chance to buy one again. Did I ever mention that I got it for free? Yup. A free Defender (paid over 5 years) and insurance for 5 years. This month it's paid in full and I get the title.

I find it very useful... It like the business version of facebook, without needing to deal with all the kids. I always check it for people I meet with, so I know more about them, the school they went to as well.

It also acts as a marketing and networking tool. People can find you and search for your type of service.

I have gotten several viable leads and a new client or two from using it.

You do realize that the worst possible thing to do to these trucks is to let them sit undriven for long periods? If the electrical problem initially sidelined you you will end up spending even more money getting everything back working correctly if you continue to let it rot. These trucks don't "sit", they rot.
