Greyhound Shipping Cost?

Just wondering how much shipping a Bicycle from AZ to CT would be on Greyhound (I know i have to go to the bus stop), so many of you talk of it, i wanted to know if its cheaper than regular shipping?

I would go regular shipping you don't want it laying on its side. in a bus they would most likely not fit standing. You will bend the rear stays or likely break of the rear derailer. To have it Professionally packed at a bike shop will cost you about $50-$80 ask for a Trek Madone Box ( they are thicker and stronger). Make sure you insure it, Bikes go missing all the time from shipping warehouses. I've shipped bikes cross country via ups for $75.

Josh love the new avatar. Are those Boost wheels?

Concur that UPS would be better for bike shipping.

I use GH for big stuff that is too expensive to go other ways. You don't get hit with the oversize charges like on UPS. But they do have a max size and weight. You can compute charges on the GH website.

If the bike is valuable, or if you especially like it, buy an air caddy and send it DHL.

Yeah, I'm assuming it's $2k+ if it's rare enough to ship from AZ to CT, so GH would not be advisable.

I've got the Thule's also, but I honestly prefer the aircaddy. Thules are $$ and require too much dissassembly.

Nah, its a low end specialized rockhopper, if it was cheap enough i would pay to ship it from AZ (relatives live out there) to CT, and there is a high supply of used rockhoppers out there. It was just an option because the bike is pretty expensive around me, here its $450 there you can get um for $300 if you are lucky.

Here's the bike i bought, it was local so i picked it up my self. Its an 08 Specialized FSR XC Comp, with Hydro disc brakes... Got it for $550, the guy bought it for $1500. It is mint, and i have never riden anything so smooth, and shifts like a mercedes.
