Great story . . . who's "Larry"?

I copied this from Discoweb:

While traveling in NOVA yesterday, my LF caliper froze leaving me stranded on the side of I95, in a sweltering heat wave. While I was sitting there scratching my a$$, a D90 pulled up behind me, and the operator, later introduced as Larry, asked if I needed any help. After we figured out the issue, he said a bud of his was parting out a 97 disco and called him. With in the hour, his buddy shows up with a caliper and new set of pads in hand. He advised his disco was hit this last winter, and totaled so he didnt need the parts anymore. After a short call to PT for technical advise, the two strangers helped me change the caliper, bleed the system, and get me mobile again.

For these two guys to take the time, and make this kind of effort on the side of a major hiway, in 98 degree weather is just way above and beond the call.

Needless to say, the gentlemen where treated to lunch and a few pints. When I asked the parts supplier what the damage was for the parts, he declined any money and said.."at least they went to someone who could use them."

I know I have stopped many time to assist stranded motorist, and guess this was a kind of payback. Kind of restores your faith in real people.

Love it!!

I'd do it for another owner, I'd hope that if an enthusiast passed by my truck broke they'd help.
