1) Cerebral films that keep on giving:
Unbearable Lightness of Being
(probably my all time fave)
Michael Clayton
(Clooney's best film to date)
Syriana
BBC Planet Earth
(can we pick documentaries? watched this several times with the kids - then we went and drove the 110 to Ethiopia to watch the highland ibex and Gelada baboons for real - inspirational)
The Wire (all five seasons)
The Barbarian Invasions

2) Guilty faves (like eating a full pint of Haagen Dazs in one sitting):
Bourne trilogy
Star Wars original trilogy
Lord of the Rings trilogy
(I know)
Terminator Salvation
Alien, Aliens, Alien3
The Perfect Storm
Oceans 11 and 12
Snatch, and Lock Stock

Fast times has to be one of the best of all time. "All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine."

The original "Bad Boys" with Penn was also pretty killer.

I love that Spicolli line.

Click is a great movie (but then again, I like anything with Kate Beckinsale in it). Another GREAT Sandler movie is Reign over Me. Such an amazingly good movie.

- RocknRolla: For the Guy Richie fans (Snatch, Lock Stock)
- Green Street Hooligans
- Spy Game
- Moon- If you havent seen it and dig sci fi, see it (plus, Clint Mansell soundtrack is gorgeous)
- The Hurt Locker
- Gangs of New York
- Inception
- Gladiator

Cant believe not mentioned before, Euro Trip. Cant help but love this great politically correct film. Big Trouble Little China, my sons namesake during ADHD years, and Kurt Russel finest work. Powder Blue, naked Jessica Biel, need I say more. D.E.B.S Sara Foster and Jordana Brewster love em both.

Fight Club. In fact, one of the better lines in that movie is a recurring theme of Rover ownership:

"Sometimes the shit you own ends up owning you."

Don't forget the original "skateboard madness."
I used to have all the Powell Peralta movies up to animal chin, but they sprouted legs over the years. I still have the original Bones Brigade vid. Awesome riding in that one. Not many Ollie kick flips over staircases but that's ok.

Also....
Repo Man
Rock and Roll High School (Ramones)
Festival Express
After Hours
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny...RIP Ronnie James Dio..

Great thread Btw...

The Bones Brigade crew and The "Z" Boyz are pioneers and still skating hard!

Did anyone mention Point Break? Not the greatest acting but i still like watching it. Anthony Kiedis had a small part as one of the surf punks.

Haha - I was racing/riding BMX, skating and listening to all punk back then - the Repo Man soundtrack was great. And noticed right off on Point Break that the guy from Red Hot Chilli Peppers was in it.

I never had skate vids but my buddy we rode with did. I loved the Agent Orange/Vision ones. Things were so budget back then but it was all done by kids that loved what they did.

And how could I forget "Rad" - it was like the anthem for all of us BMX riders BITD. I had no clue who Lori Loughlin was but knew all the stunt riders - man I was such a dork (actually, still am)....

Since you mention the sports action genre, I've got to add that Crusty II was the best of all the Crusty series and there was an awesome Agent Orange song in the soundtrack.
