if you watch the behind the scenes for Ronin, they filmed all the chase scenes with the cars being towed behind the camera car/truck, but they did a minimum of like 70mph. that's why Deniro is white knuckling it! Amazing movie and was my very first DVD purchase.

Not necessarily all-time faves but all worth checking out. Not sure I saw any of these mentioned:

The Dark Backwards (bizarre)
Schultze Gets the Blues
Donnie Darko
Suicide Kings
Bullitt ( for the car chase)
French Connection
Stranger than Paradise
Unforgiven
Being John Malkovich (all Charlie Kaufman)
Apocalypse Now
Blue Velvet or any David Lynch
Click and Punch Drunk Love/ Adam Sandler- the latter more than the former.

Edit: I see Bullitt was mentioned twice. So how about:

Five Easy Pieces -diner scene is Jack at his best:

Atlantic City
A Simple Plan
The Ice Storm
The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover
Annie Hall and lots of other Woody Allen
Unbearable Lightness of Being (or anything where Lena Olin takes her clothes off, oh la la)

Crash (the early one based on the JG Ballard book with Holly Hunter and James Spader not the later movie by the same name)

Which reminds me:
Sex, Lies, and Videotape - who was that smoking hot brunette in that one, ay yi yi...

I would think those 2 movies would strengthen the fact that some girls do have cooties.

Loved Fast Times - can't believe I forgot that. Had to get a pair of slip-on Vans in check pattern because of Spicolli.

Kinda hard to list your favorites. Too many. It's like asking a parent to pick a favorite child.
I love different aspects of different movies and a lot depends on what genre, but I'll take a stab in no particular order......

1) Trading Places (so many great lines)
2)Goodfellas (does it get any better than this?)
3) The Time Machine (the 'ole school original)
4) Them (ahead of its time sci-fi horror from the 50s)
5) The Usual Suspects (I can't believe no one has listed this yet)
6) T2 (Cameron's finest)
8) Freeway (Reese Witherspoon in a modern day Lil Red Riding Hood....HOT!)
9) Igby Goes Down (it's great trust me)
10) Kids (anyone that's seen in can tell you why it's great. Twisted, but great )
11) Heat
12) Th Big Lebowski (do I really need to list this? I mean, look at my user name)

Oh yeah Jackie I saw KIDS too. And I made out with Chloe Zevigny for about 5 seconds at a party in CT about 6 months before that came out.
