Great day ends with long Geico discussion

So I take the afternoon off to bring my 3 and 5 year old boys to the Yankees game. All is great. The Yankees start with a four run first inning and my kids favorite player, Teixeira, hits a home run. The kids cannot stop talking about how amazing the day is... The weather is hot but I'm having a blast. And I cannot help being very excited about all the galvanized railings surrounding us (is this just a land rover thing?) note the background in the picture of my older son.

We head out as the thunderstorm comes in during the 7th inning. Run to the 110, soaked, jump in and slowly merge into the wonderful traffic. I don't care, I just had a great day with my two little guys. I'm driving my favorite car. Life is good.

Two hours later, which would take 45 minutes without traffic, I decide to get out of the bumper to bumper traffic and take the back roads to my house. I put on my right blinker to get in the exit lane, check once in the mirror, then over my shoulder, then back to the mirror as I move to the right lane going 5 miles an hour. Then I catch a tinted out black Ultima going 60+ mph so he can cut ahead of 15 cars. Before my 5 year old gets hit in the rear passenger seat I jerk back to the left and clip the Rangler who is stopped in front of me. We pull over. The young guy is nice. We exchange credentials, call the police and head on our way.

Geico was awesome. Hopefully the adjuster is reasonable and I don't get railed on my premium. My wife and I have spotless records since we both got licenses 15 years ago. We'll see...

Just had to voice my frustration but be thankful it wasn't worse.

Joshua

Sorry to see that.

Sorry about that accident. If you get choice of garage for repair consider mendham auto body. Great Owners and they just did body-off respray on my d110 which I am very pleased with their work.

Plus then maybe I'd be able to check out both your trucks next time I'm out that way.

How was the Wrangler after the collision?

I'm also curious to see how Geico handles it. Just changed to Geico after 25 years with Allstate. Just couldn't justify the price difference any more.

The Wrangler had the right rear pushed in about four inches and half the light assembly was on my lap somehow. My window was open.

I'll check out the autobody shop in Mendham.

I had planned to pick up just the blade style Rockware bumper. I personally like the look much more than the brush bar. Not now. I want the full protection.

I'll update this thread as I get feedback from Geico.

Geico paid to fix my 85 110 when a tree fell on it. I think it's important to let the shop know you want to fix it not total it. My repair bill was around $8k I think. I also sourced all the parts needed because the shop had no idea where to get parts. I used Safari Heritage parts from FL. 110 was in the shop almost 2 months.
