Gray vs Grey, the legal issues

I saw in the vehicles for sale section that there was a thread for some guys 110 Gray market truck. There was also a state trooper that would provide some input if a new thread was started.

Hope I did not come late to the conversation, but what was the outcome of that thread.

I built a 110 on a Range Rover Chassie and used parts from a Series. Was my old truck legal. The way I understand the law if the vehicle was comprised of at least 5 different trucks I can call it a Shelby Cobra if I want and it is legal at least in Florida and GA that I know of.

I had a book of receipts 3 inches thick, to show the purchase of the various big parts required. Also built a 109 with 110 frame and V8 5 speed. Was that truck legal.

Thanks for the input.

Ive read the thread in the link and it seems that there are alot of different opinions about this subject. Now say i were to buy a brand new D110 bodyshell from england, a D110 galvanized frame from DAP, put in the cummins, trans, tcase, from a 1999 dodge ram 2500, get custom axles built, and then put a custom rovertym based suspension under it what the hell would i have? A kit car?

Yep. That would be a kit car, or more techincally a homebuilt.

Brace for impact, I'm in a "modifying mood". Massive thread count inbound.
