Gravely porn

Picked these two beauties and a cart up in leesburg yesterday. Paid a measly 650 for all. The faded one has an upgrade to the Kohler 16 hp twin.

Gravely? Not familiar. IMO, some of the best gearhead porn is a "4X4" search in the "farm & garden" section on local Craigslist.

Good score! The sheet metal looks perfect!!

I,too, am unfamiliar with Gravley's garden tractors - only familiar with "a Gravely," which I always took to mean a walk-behind... with a thousand attachments. There are local guys who are into similar generation Cub Cadets and Bohlens that would kill for that lot.

Are there Calvin and Hobbs type peeing-on-the-competition stickers for garden tractors?

Really enjoyed my Gravely. Gave it to my sister when I bought a Kubota BX, and about 2 months later the engine went pop. Don't know what they did with it after that.....nice find!

Yeh they are pretty much the walk-behind with front steering and a seat. Built like the Pyramids. My sister has this habit of plowing into trees and stumps with the mower, so you need something forgiving with her at the wheel.

I still remember the pain when I got jabbed in the thigh by the left handle of a Gravely with a brush hog on the front. I found a big hole while mowing some back property of my landscaping boss in college. Most machines (like the Ransomes walkers we used all day mowing lawns) would have stopped when the wheel fell into a hole that size. The Gravely went in and came out like it was nothing although it tossed the handles all the way one way then the other with my thigh in the way the second time.

Nice machines! Post a pic or 2 of them in use.

When I was in high school I worked for a lumber yard that had a gravely walk behind. I would mow the lawn with it in the summer, and plow snow with it in the winter. They are great machines, very heavy duty.

I still have two electric start walk behind model L's with dual wheels and bar tread tires.
Have snow blades, bush hogs, riding and steering sulky's, and the rare sought after 40 inch finish mowers for them.
Both were runners last time I hooked a battery to them. Love to sell them to someone who will use them.
The 4wd 60 inch john deere diesel is handling the yard these days.

If you want to let the 30" rotary attachment go I'm your huckleberry. I have the front adapter for the walk behind implements and nothing eats poison ivy vines like that thing

Bill, how bad are the Onans? Didn't these have Onan opposed twins?

I used to work on them a bit in Deeres. They have a bad rap online.

I'm looking at a Steiner with a 20hp Onan.

Gravely 8000/800 series all came with Kohler engines. The 12 and 14 hp were the K series upright single. This twin is a Magnum 16. I have leaky tanks and old carbs and rotten rubber lines. Those are getting renewed this weekend and with new batteries these all should be gtg.

while a totally enjoyable photo-its so fake. No way that hottie could hold that up with one hand.

The title said porn so I had to look. So disappointed (other than Russell's contribution, and to be fair I guess Steven's made me tingle a little - gotta love a backhoe). I feel nothing for lawn tractors though.
