I'm a diesel owner (hence the user name). But on a related subject, has anyone seen any quick facts that can be quoted to the Greenies on the carbon footprint of older recycled vehicles versus hybrids and sparkies?
Eric.

Good luck! All you need to do is find a non-liberal academic researcher that is not biased towards the left wing view of balance between economic progress and environmental issues.

On a positive note, I turned my fueling down last night, and reduced my 'skeeter fog to a little puff. Who's a happy socialist?

These Prius loving, diesel hating liberals think this air we breathe is bad? They need to travel more out side of their little cocoon. Like Beijing, Bangkok, Bombay, or Delhi just to name a few.

Whiesel,

Not sure if this true but I heard a few years ago that one of the components for the batteries is strip mined in Canada then sent to Germany where they are made into batteries. The batteries are then sent to japan where the cars are made. The cars are then sent to the USA. If this is true that would make the cars not very efficient based on all the moving around to get a car to the USA that will likely only be on the road for 5 years.

Beijing's polluted air serves a purpose for tourism at the Forbidden City, though. Just like in the movies, the veil of fog and mystery is now just smog! But it looks about right. Just don't hike the steps too fast or its green snot time.
