Anyone done this? I'm signed up for the Providence Event on OCT 21.

Looking for pointers/feedback if anyone has.

18-20 miles in 8-10 hours with a 40lb ruck? Sounds pretty easy. Hopefully their ruck has a waist strap so you can carry the weight at your hips. Drink lots of water and carry moleskin and bandaids. Also, a good pair of boots/shoes BROKEN IN is key. Other than that, pain is only in your head.

Sounds like fun, other than the in the city bit. Let us know how it goes.

Any excuse to get outside is good. Last July 4, did 17 mi in 8 hrs @4000-8500 ft in the Eagle Cap Wilderness area, about a quarter was post holing through snow pack, with ~45lb pack.
