Goodyear Wrangler's

I am thinking about the ATS ina 235/85 do any of yall have any experience with this tire? They seem a bit more aggressive than the BFG AT, I want the BFG MT but I cant bring myself to put tires with white lettering on my truck. If we could only get XZl's.............................

Why can't you flip the MT's inside out if you're worried about letters? Are they uni-directional?

Put the white letters in. If even on the inside it bothers you, spray the letters with undercoat and you will never see them.

I had the ATS on My CJ-5 (previous life) 31-10.50-15. I loved them they were great in the snow.

I would consider them for my Defender after I wear My BFG's out.

But since the fist set lasted 45K miles and I drive my 90 less than 3K a year, I am sure that by the year 2018 there will be really cool treads out there

Philip, just get the mt's and turn them around. They are not directional tires. You will love them.

I can't really say how they did in the mud, just rock and sand. I will say that they are a great sand tire too. The two grooves trap the dry sand and keep the tire up.

Probably a little better in the mud then the BFG A/T T/A, but not as good as an M/T

Dude, go with the MT's. My friend had the ATS on his grand cherokee....They're terrible in mud. I could do more in stock form with MT's than he could with a cherokee with a 5 in lift with ATS.

Then again he wasnt exactly the brightest guy I ever met.....

hmm...

I agree with Martin as well, if you're selling it you'll never make your money back on it no matter how bad the tires are right now.
Also, you won't need to spray the white lettering with anything because with all of the brake dust, etc, they'll be black in NO TIME.
I also agree with most about buying MT's, but if you're going to go that route and you want decent mileage out of a pair of MT's go with the GOODYEAR MT/R... I've had both on my 90 and the difference was incredible, these tires are so sticky, and i've put probably ten thousand on them and there's not much sign of wear, AND they're quiet, and balance out.

But AT's on that truck ? It's a f%&#ing Defender. (my opinion... i just think they kill the truck)

In any case, good luck.

Nicholas

Huh, what wisdom? When I sold my truck I was taking stuff off of it ( surrey top, clear windows, extra bits) not getting new tires for the next owner to enjoy.
Give Copley a call and see if they want the truck back.

Martin not Mart, unless your from Haiti and cant pronounce my name
