Goodbye Land Rover Darien, CT

At least in its current form. I received a letter today saying Penske automotive was taking over.

The dealer here in San Diego has changed hands 3 times I think over the last 10 years. It's still mostly the same people, I didn't ever really notice a difference.

The local LR dealership here in Scottsdale has been owned by Penske Automotive Group for as long as I can remember. I have not heard of anybody being unhappy with their sales, service or parts department. They also throw a pretty nice Cars & Coffee event each month.

Good to know. It sounded like LR was done there. Even though I haven't gone there in years (when our d2 warranty expired), I always get a kick off driving by the displayed vehicles.

I take my 08 RR Sport SC there. I've been out to OEX in East Haddam with them. Good group of people. No way Penske drops Land Rover in SW CT. License to print money.

Hopefully Penske is pushing south....we need someone to take over all of the Long Island dealerships.

Those boys are pretty great. I met some of them at Expo west. They were very hospitable and even served us all breakfast. I will never forget the green chili tamales, I like spicy food but good god they where HOT!

Long Island Automotive group just changed ownership this month, but nothing has changed at the dealership that I can tell. I'm sure things will change as time goes on, and hopefully the dealership will get a remodel.

Good news! The sales side has been good for us but we've been dealing with Anthony Vitale in Glen Cove since 2002 when he was in Massapequa. Service has always been their Achilles heel.

Service in the Huntington store is a joke as well. I have gotten into a few arguments with them. Smithtown was the best around these parts.

Sorry to hear you guys have had bad experiences with the service department. Glen Cove got a new service manager last year, and I really like him. I just started at this dealership in September after I moved here from Virginia.

Brett went back to LRM, he had like a 2 hour commute to Glen Cove.
