Good Article On EGT

This was a good starting point for EGT reading:

Exhaust Gas Temperature Basics - Diesel Power Magazine

Cool.

BTW. What EGT gauge would be recommended for the 300Tdi, and what scale? C/F?

I think the clock face and scale are a matter of preference.
eGauges.com is a good source for VDO.

eGauges.com is a good source for VDO.
+1 for eGauges.com

I have bought from them for VW's and when I replaced the water temp/voltmeter/fuel gauges on the 110.

Cool article. I am about half way through, thanks for the tip.

I have ISSPRO gauges in mine and they do OK although I would like something with a small warning light that you could set instead of needing to actually read the gauge face all the time.

Mine are in a RRC but I have a couple of friends with Defenders that use the Aubers gauges and they are pretty cool and really flexible: Automobile Multimeter for EGT, Boost, Green [SYL-1813G] - $56.50 : auberins.com, Temperature control solutions for home and industry

I am not a fan of digital but it makes them super easy to read and they have adjustable warning lights.
